  1. 1938

    A school in a temple

SJK(T) Ladang Wellesley is founded. Its first 24 pupils have their lessons in a temple building.

  2. 1959

    The first two classrooms

Through the efforts of estate manager Mr P.N. Pillai, two classrooms are built and teaching runs in morning and afternoon sessions.

  3. 1986

    Land and a six-classroom block

The Ladang Wellesley management gives the school a 150 × 300 ft plot. With RM120,000 from the federal government, a building with six classrooms goes up. It is officially opened by YB Dato Seri Dr S. Samy Vellu on 13 August 1993.

  4. 1991 – 1999

    Growing past 700 pupils

Enrolment climbs towards 500 and the school moves to two sessions in 1991, then reaches 700. In 1995 headmaster Mr R.T. Sangkara Narayanan and the parent–teacher association (PIBG) begin negotiating for a new site, and in 1999 the PIBG adds a block of four classrooms.

  5. 2003

    A new site

The estate grants 16,180 m² of land (lot 5019) to the school and temple. The school administration, the PIBG, YB Mr S. Ganeson and trustees Mr V. Rajasegaran and Mr K. Manaindi work to make a new building a reality.

  6. 2010

    The three-storey building opens

A new three-storey building with 18 classrooms, built with federal funding, comes into use. It is officially opened by YB Dato G. Palanivel on 13 November 2011.

  7. 2012 – 2017

    Building for 21st-century learning

An ICT room set up by the PIBG is opened by the Menteri Besar of Kedah on 23 June 2012. By 2014 the school has 42 staff and 721 pupils. An open hall is built and the canteen renovated in 2016 with help from the Board of Governors (LPS), the PIBG and public donations, and in 2017, under headmaster Mr M. Majiyappan, an IQ Smart Board donated by a volunteer is installed.

  8. 2019 – 2020

A preschool in the old building

The old building is converted into a preschool and science room with RM60,000 in government funding. The preschool opens in January 2020, with five-year-olds in Kelas Elamathi and six-year-olds in Kelas Elanthalir.

  9. 2022

    National champions

Pupils and teachers win the SIRIM Innovation and Invention Technology competition at national level. A private company donates three smart televisions in recognition.

  10. Today

    Room to grow

With the Board of Governors (LPS), the old building is being renovated at a cost of RM259,000 to add the special rooms the school needs.
